Kirsty Godfrey, Cook at St Michael’s CE VA Primary School was selected to take part in a cookery demonstration in London on 22nd May as part of the Tesco Community Cookery School with Jamie Oliver. Our school uses the Fareshare scheme who offer unsold food from their store to community groups which we can then provide to the children or families in need.
The aim of the day was to use food items that were on or near its ‘sell by date’ to create a delicious lunch for children at school. The ingredients used for this demonstration were curry sauce, tomato sauce and white sauce. These transferred into delicious dishes of korma, jalfrezi and pasta bake.
Kirsty was so pleased to be selected to take part in this day, it was an amazing experience and a was such a great opportunity for herself and the school. We would like to thank the Lyme Regis Tesco store who provide us with food through this scheme.
